Code of Practice

For Cable Kneeboarding, Water-skiing and Wakeboarding.

You must read and understand this Code of Practice and confirm that you can meet the Cable Entry equirements and will abide by the Cable Rules. You will need to accept the risks associated with the nature of the activity by signing our Risk Awareness and Consent Form (or, if under 18 a parent/ guardian will need to sign on your behalf).

Cable Entry Requirements

  • Min age 12 years of age (for slow sessions this is 10 years and over, Junior Riders sessions 8-12 yrs).
  • You must be able to swim 50 metres unaided.
  • You must be able to see 50 metres without the aid of glasses.
  • You must not knowingly suffer from epilepsy or any other medical condition rendering you unfit to participate in this activity. This activity is not suitable for pregnant women.
  • You must understand that kneeboarding, water-skiing and wakeboarding are hazardous sports.

Cable Rules

  1. Wearing a buoyancy aid/ impact jacket and helmet is compulsory.
  2. Take avoiding action if you see someone in the water.
  3. If in doubt, let go of the tow rope immediately.
  4. If you see any hazards in the water - skis, debris, or a skier in trouble, go to the nearest bank and report to a member of the cable staff immediately.
  5. If you fall, let go of the handle! Try to avoid falling forwards - sit down, or if falling sideways try to curl into a ball. If you need assistance, raise your arms above your head, otherwise swim quickly to the nearest shore then walk back to the start, carrying your equipment with you.
  6. If you are in the water and you see a free handle coming towards you, move out of the path of the handle, or if there isn’t time, duck under the water.
  7. Always obey all instruction given to you by cable ski staff.
  8. Never ski/ride into the starting area or shallow water.
  9. Never deliberately ski/ride too close to a person in the water.
  10. Never wrap the tow rope around any part of the body, or place any part of the body through the tow handle.
  11. Only designated hire boards to be used on the cable park features.
  12. All jewellery must be removed.
  13. Only ski/wakeboard to within your own ability.
  14. Do not stray into the aqua park designated area.
  15. Any horseplay on or off the water, use of alcohol or drugs, or disobeying instructions given by any cable ski staff will result in you being asked to leave the site immediately, and without refund, and may result in you being banned for an indefinite period.
