We’re very excited to be hosting the 2016 UK Cable Nationals on Fri July 22nd and Sat July 23rd 2016!. The UK Nationals showcases some of the most talented wakeboarders and wakeskaters in the United Kingdom, with many competitors already part of the national team and competing in Europe and around the world!. Spectators are very welcome. Watch the riders compete for national titles in this two day event. Our lakeside bar and cafe will be open throughout, and there will be a final presentation in the bar on the Saturday night, an opportunity to celebrate with the new 2016 national champions!.

What’s it all about?The UK Cable Nationals is every UK rider’s opportunity to compete for a national title and ranking in their own category. The competition is registered as a part of IWWF National & World Rankings and the event is run by British Waterski and Wakeboard (BWSW), the national governing body, recognised by Sport England.
Past eventsEach year the Nationals is hosted by a cable site around the UK. 2016 is our turn at Sheffield Cable Waterski to host the event. Last year’s event was hosted by Box End Park and featured on itv.com. Check out the footage below for other previous events at Liquid Leisure and JB.
What are the categories?
|Mini Boys/ Mini Girls||Year of birth must be 2005 or later.|
|Boys/ Girls||Year of birth must be 2001 or later.|
|Junior Men/ Junior Ladies||Year of birth must be 1997 or later.|
|Open Men/ Open Ladies||No age restriction.|
|Masters Men/ Masters Ladies||Year of birth must be 1986 or before.|
|Veteran Men/ Veterab Ladies||Year of birth must be 1976 or before.|
Category minimum requirement is 3 riders.
How do I enter?To be eligible to enter the UK Cable Nationals you must be a current member of British Waterski and Wakeboard with a valid cable license. You will need to register with British Waterski and Wakeboard http://www.bwsw.org.uk/events-and-results/uk-cable-nationals-2016/ and also please register on cablewakeboard.net.
There will be a discount for entering both wakeboard and wakeskate events.
Riders must be registered and paid by Friday 15th July 2016 5p.m. Registrations after this date will be considered as a late registration which will increase your registration fee from £35 to £45.
The discounted rate for entering both the wakeboard and wakeskate events is £50.
What’s included with the entry cost?In addition to competition entry, your entry fee entitles you to free official practice (3 hrs, Friday 22nd July 9:00am-12:00 Noon) and one meal (BBQ) on the Saturday evening – Vegetarian / special dietary requirements must be pre-advised to Sheffield Cable Waterski using our contact us page.
Is there any public riding during the event?Unfortunately not, the cable will be closed for public riding on Friday July 22nd and Saturday July 23rd (including Junior Riders Club).
We don’t have the timetable just yet, but it will be published here as soon as it is available so you can get an idea of the order in which the categories will be competing.
Where can I stay?The Nationals is a two day event. We have a camp site here at Sheffield Cable Waterski, which you are welcome to use for a small charge. Is food and drink available on site?Yes, we have a cafe and bar on site. We will be offering a Hog Roast on the Friday evening and a BBQ for the Saturday Evening, both served from our outdoor BBQ Area. Tickets for both Hog Roast and BBQ will be available to buy from our cafe. One BBQ ticket will be provided free to competitors on the Saturday evening (advance notice required for vegetarian/ special dietary requirements).
What are the competition rules?The competition will be carried out according to rules of the IWWF Cable Wakeboard World Council. You can view the rules here: http://www.cablewakeboard.net.
Please note that you have to wear a suitable helmet and vest in the wakeboard competition.
